Day two - July 10th Stage 2: 38.9km Zermatt to Gressoney-Staffal

After a good breakfast and a nights sleep in a hostel in Zermatt we set off again. I managed to leave my hat in the cafe so missed out on the group photo as had to run back to collect it - not a great start to the 5 mile climb up over the Glacier to the Theodulpass and on into Italy ..

I was extremely tired after the second climb another 1500 ft on rocky terrain

and pleased that I had brought the poles ..

descended into Gressoney-Staffal for shower dinner and - sleep.
